Some Other Band

Some Other Band

In 1974, this was likely my first proper band. The players had precipitated out of various ensembles in high school and church groups. We had a very good run in the St. Petersburg, FL area performing at a Bi-Centennial (1976) block party in east downtown for over 2000 people, numerous town sponsored beach parties and teen functions for hundreds of kids, and outdoor all-ages concerts.
Chicago Transit Authority and Bread were big on the charts at the time, so we covered those bands along with their top 40 contemporaries.
The band was comprised of: Arlene Mears - keys and vocals, John Watkins - bass, Bill Blonshine - guitar and vocals, Jim Moore - drums, and myself on lead guitar. We also had a few guest players and vocalists and got a fair amount of well paying gigs considering we were just a bunch of kids.

You'll find in the master set list, a small sampling of the songs we played in this band.
