Live Wire

Live Wire Boston was started by Bill Whitney, Tom Keiser and myself in 2001. After Bill and I had finished up a swing music project,  we quickly found common musical tastes with Tom and it was pretty clear this was going to be a lot of fun and all settled in for a long run.

The bands approach was a General Business band (parties, corporate functions, weddings, celebrations,
bashes poolside or beach side etc.) and choosing music with interesting chord changes, to perform songs that were easily recognizable and dance-able.

The first member to join us was Felicia Brady (now w/ Porch Party Mamas LINK)  An all-around professional with a beautiful voice. She is playing around Boston quite a bit these days (2021) with her PPM Band.  A few months later, New England Conservatory trained, Jenny Moriarty took on the keyboard role, backing singing and being a shining beacon of positivism.  Lead singers came and went, add-in players did as well. For large functions, usually horns were added depending on the customers budget.

In total, I have played a lot of gigs back in the day but I 'm certain this band was the most road worthy and played some of the most posh venues I had ever had the pleasure to experience.
Additionally, we landed a great gig at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington D.C. in 2007. In 2017, we played Arts on the Green at Elm Bank and following is a video reference: HERE

We'd played country clubs & high-end resorts, flew by private jet to Indiana, haunted downtown hotels late at night, private estates, night clubs, beach parties, Boston's waterfront, even a cruise ship. The list is very long.

In 2012, I left the band.  Nowadays, my buddy Tom Keiser, still runs the band and continues to have a great run with the GB business and the jazz circuits around Boston.
